Corporate Treasurer Illustration

The Corporate Treasurer Magazine commissioned six double page Illustrations from me, here are a couple that were to run into each other over four pages. It was a pretty free brief, which was enjoyable.

Las Vegas Tech

This Illo' was for Haymarket Publishing HK, they wanted a pic' to run with a story about a huge Tech convention in Las Vegas, The headline will run across most of the illustration, so the colours had to be keep minimal.

Eating Their Own

This Illustration (it actually came out last month) was for an article on Japanese Income-distribution fund products, titled "Eating Their Own". I was given the idea of a snake eating it's tail, I thought it would be nice to try and make it look a bit like a japanese wood cut print. Think it works Ok.

Hi all you lovely people. These two pics were for Campaign (Asia Pacific) Mag and the piece was about Nerds and how hard it is to catch them and sell them stuff. I seem to be having a yellow/red head on just now (see below)

These two pics above were for the Washington Post's Outlook mag, I wasn't sure which one I liked more so left the choice to them. I was asked to do the cover as well......Whey hey!

This is an illustration I did for Haymarket Asia earlier in the April. I don't normally get asked to do cityscapes but I really enjoyed working on this.

Hello there

Here's some work I've not long finished for some lovely people across the pond at the Harvard Business Review. The article was called "The Relationships You Need To Get Right" and dealt with the need to be an "effective sponsor- and a good Protégé" throughout your management career. The pics will be dropped in over four pages. Should look nice.

Do come along to "Look Mum No Hands!" to see our work if you can

Cheers

Classic FM Illustration

Hello

This is a illo' I did for the lovely Sandra Marques (Art Editor) over at Classic FM, for their "True Stories" piece. It was about composer György Ligeti premiere of Poème Symphonique, which didn't go down to well with the good people of the Dutch city of Hilversum during the Gaudeamus New Music Week. Probably because it was played by 100 metronomes!

Guardian Sports page

Hello there.
This pic' was for last Mondays Guardian Sports back page, Martin Kelner was writing (partly) about his attention being drawn to the cleavage "four rows behind the players' seats" during the Andy Murray-Ivan Lubric match at Wimbledon.

Symoposion Magazine

This image was commissioned by the wonderfully named Attila Sirbik for the (I think Hungarian) Symposision Magazine http://www.artmistakes.com/2009/07/01/symposion/
http://designyoutrust.com/2010/08/09/symposion-magazine-photos/?, which is a quarterly Literature and Arts Mag.
I was iasked to come up with a couple of pages to run with a piece called "the naked truth" which is a dream like story where the author is invited into an empty flat by a naked couple.

HR Cover

This is a mockup of a cover I've not long done for HR magazine, the piece is about the trials that HR staff are going through at the moment, what with having to lay off employees as well as being given the "chop" themselves.

About once a year the very nice people at Vanity Fair Magazine ask me to do a wee pic' for their travel supplement, this is the one I did for this Aprils Supplement. It was on the building or renovation of upmarket hotels even though the economic climate is a pretty chilly.

A small selection of some medical type illustrations I've been doing for the drug Vidaza that's used in the treatment of Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS).

start of a dream

This was the start of an early morning dream that never was, due to the early awakening of my youngest. Not sure if I got the character right, but who will ever know.
Reminds me of the "Magic Roundabout" somehow.

Dream fishing

Had a dream about fishing the other night, it all went horribly wrong.
