Guardian Sport - Man Utd
I did this for the Guardian Sport on Saturday
It was an article lamenting the decline of Manchester United (Man Utd are called the red devils, and have a devil on their club badge). The writer urged the club to improve its academy, which produced players like David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, etc.
I hope that the solution of a powerful predator, showing some paternal skills and bringing through the next eagle generation got this message across.
The club plays in red, white and black.

Cheetah/Cheater
I did this for the Guardian last month.
The article was about American athlete Justin Gatlin, who seems to be getting faster with age!
He has served two lengthy bans for drugs offences, and the article questioned the integrity of his longevity.

Toile Parasol for the Huntington Library
I've designed a new and exclusive toile pattern for the Huntington Library in the USA, a sort of museum/botanical gardens. It has been printed on a lovely paper parasol, with more products coming soon...

BBC History Magazine
Here is an illustrated map I did of the UK, which covers a spread in the April Issue of the BBC History Magazine. It accompanies an article about immigration to England during medieval times.
Happy Easter everyone,

South China Morning Post
I have had a few early starts for the South China Morning Post this week
4 am start for a 9.30 am deadline
Cornflakes taste funny at that time in the morning
First one was about needless extra powers in Hong Kong law being introduced under Chinese influence
The second image defended China over ongoing border and territory disputes in the South China Sea, it suggested that Philippines, Vietnam and the USA were the source of the problems.
My body clock is nearly back to normal

Chinese New Year
Here is my illustration of the celebration of Spring, featuring the animals of the Chinese zodiac. It has been used in various ways to decorate the luxury shopping mall Pacific Place in Hong Kong.
I designed it in red (a lucky colour) but the pink and brown is quite fun too.
Happy Chinese New Year on the 19th February!

My 'Winterland' tree was commissioned by the V&A as part of their set of Christmas cards this year. The pack features work by four contemporary illustrators and can be purchased here. The design also spreads across the V&A shop for the 2014 festive season, on display areas, columns and till points.
Have as peaceful Christmas and good start to 2015.
Best wishes, Lynn

Hothead
Did your mum used to tell you that we lose up to 50 per cent of heat through our heads?
It was just to frighten you into wearing that bobble hat that she knitted you for Christmas

Spear's Magazine. Trusted Advisers
The nice people at Spear's Magazine commissioned this Illo' for a piece on "how private client professionals – including lawyers, accountants and private bankers –are increasingly serving as ‘trusted advisers’ for their clients, giving advice that it’s not strictly limited to their area of expertise and ending up becoming a friend".
Cheers
